Highett Pre School offers 3 year old and 4 year old programs

3 Year Old Applications

Our 3 Year Old program is administered by Highett Pre School and your Application Form should be sent directly to Highett Pre School.

SESSIONS: For 2010 and 2011, a 5 hour program per week over 2 days on a rotational group basis.

AGE: Children are eligible to attend the 3-Year-Old program provided they have turned 3 years of age on or before 31 January in the year that they attend the Pre School.

TOILETTING: It is highly recommended that children be independent with their toiletting before they begin Pre-school. Whilst occasional toiletting accidents can be dealt with promptly by the staff, if a childre has an ongoing toletting issue, staff may need to consult with the child's parents/guardians to negotiate a suitable management strategy.

APPLICATIONS: Applications, together with a $12 application fee, are accepted at any time, however they must be received by 23 July to be considered for the first round of offers.

OFFERS OF A PLACE: Places will be allocated to eligible children who are on the waiting list. The following selection criteria of Highett Pre School is used to determine priority of access if there are more applications submitted than places available:

1. Applicants who have siblings who have attended, or are currently attending, either a 4 year old group or a 3 year old group at Highett Pre School

2. Children currently in the 3 year old group who are to repeat 3 year old Pre School

3. Other Kingston Council residents

4. Other Bayside Council local residents

5. Other Council residents

6. Date of application

First round offers will be sent out (August prior to the year of enrolment). The letter requests completion of a Fee Payment Agreement and a $100 Fee Deposit to secure a place at Highett Pre School.

Applicants who are successful will be notified of a confirmed place by letter by September prior to the year of enrolment.

Applicants who are unsuccessful will be notified in writing that they were not allocated a place and advised of their position on the waiting list by September prior to the year of enrolment.

Parents/guardians who wish to withdraw their enrolment, will be required to notify the Committee in writing as soon as possible. The Fee Deposit is non-refundable.

4 Year Old Applications

SESSIONS: For 2010 and 2011, 2 groups each with a 12 hour program per week over 3 days.

If you wish your child to attend Highett Pre School’s 4 Year Old program you will need to complete the City of Kingston Enrolment Form, listing Highett Pre School as your 1st preference.

The application form is to be sent to the City of Kingston . Your enrolment form will be processed and your child will be placed on a waiting list for places in the 4 year old program.

If you have already applied for enrolment through the City of Kingston Central Enrolments System, but you wish to change the order of preferences, please download the Alteration to Enrolment Form and mail directly to the City of Kingston
