We have prepared a 'What to Expect' information flyer to assist you with your next Working Bee and Kinder Duty. Please download it for your reference.
Working BeesAs a community run kinder, we rely on the kinder community to help maintain the buildings, grounds and equipment our children use. At Highett Pre School, we request that all families attend at least one working bee per year, and would love it if you attended more! All parents benefit from meeting new faces, and being more involved with their child’s education. Children are most welcome to attend. Your Working Bee attendance can also be measured in other ways – if you can contribute skills such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc to improve the kinder, this will also count as attendance. Please let us know if you would like to help us with your skills – we would love it! Kinder DutyWe ask all families to assist in the daily program. Prior to each term, you (or another family member/carer) will be asked to choose at least 1 session on your child’s group ‘Term Duty Roster’. Each of the 3 and 4 year old group Term Duty Rosters will be displayed in the Pre School foyer. Siblings are welcome, but must be supervised at all times. We ask you to remember that under no circumstances are hot drinks to be consumed near the children Parent help involves:
Please try and attend each rostered day, as having a parent helping each session has a great benefit to the program. You will have an opportunity to know your child’s pre school friends. This is a special day for your child and she/he will feel special to have you there. If you are a working parent, please feel free to drop in at any time when you have the opportunity and see your child in the preschool environment.
